The race is open to all people, locals or foreigners;

Participants should be a team which is composed of at least two (2) photographers or three (3) photographers at the most. A combination of local & foreigner photographers is encouraged;​

 The winners of this contest shall primarily be judged thru submission of the birds photographed by each Team Members in accordance with the rules, henceforth, participants must be equipped with camera of any types so that images of the birds photographed and submitted can be identified to earn corresponding points;

The Contest Organizer will provide Bird Site Map for the participants. The Bird Site Map will provide illustration and location of designated bird sites/areas as guide for the race participants. Nevertheless, pictures taken outside of the prescribed designated areas and sites are likewise allowed provided that they are taken within Puerto Princesa City. Prior permission from the landowners in private properties shall be the sole responsibility of each team to secure, save those private lands cited and included in the Bird Site Map;

 Birds photographed and properly identified will become points which will have a corresponding score as follows:

a) Palawan endemic birds  --- Ten (10) points

b) Others (Philippine Endemic, Resident, & Migrant) --- Five (5) points

9. The American Birding Association Rules on Birding etiquettes and discipline are adopted to apply during the race.
